چکیده
Abstract The Central and East Java region, which is part of the Sunda Arc, has relatively high seismic rates due to convergence two major tectonic plates in Indonesian region; i.e., Indo-Australian Plate subducting under Eurasian Plate. Many devastating earthquakes have occurred this area as a result interaction between these plates. Two examples are 1994 Banyuwangi earthquake (Mw 7.6) 2006 Yogyakarta 6.3). This study aims determine precise locations analyze pattern distribution Java, Indonesia. We manually re-picked P S-wave arrival times that were recorded by Agency for Meteorology, Climatology Geophysics (BMKG) network during time period January 2009–September 2017. then determined using non-linear method. To improve accuracy locations, we relocated 1,127 out 1,529 events, double-difference algorithm with waveform cross-correlation data. Overall, seismicity region predominantly distributed south Island; e.g., Kebumen, Yogyakarta, Pacitan, Malang, clusters. These clusters probably related subduction activity regions. Meanwhile, there having shallow depths on mainland indicate inland faults Opak Fault, Kendeng Thrust, Rembang–Madura–Kangean–Sakala (RMKS) Fault Zone. Several other active not shown any significant over mentioned, Pasuruan Lasem Muria Semarang Probolinggo Fault.

Regional and teleseismic double-difference earthquake relocation using waveform cross-correlation and global bulletin data
[1] We have developed a double-difference algorithm to relocate earthquakes recorded at global seismic networks, using differential arrival times for first and later arriving regional and global phases to invert for the vectors connecting the hypocenters. Differential times are formed from global seismic bulletins and are accurately measured on similar seismograms by time domain waveform cross ...
متن کاملSouthern California Hypocenter Relocation with Waveform Cross- Correlation, Part 1: Results Using the Double-Difference Method
We present the results of relocating 327,000 southern California earthquakes that occurred between 1984 and 2002. We apply time-domain waveform cross-correlation for P and S waves between each event and 100 neighboring events identified from the catalog based on a 3D velocity model. To simplify the computation, we first divide southern California into five polygons, such that there are 100,000 ...
متن کاملEarthquake Relocation and Focal Mechanism Determination Using Waveform Cross Correlation, Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica
The Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica directly overlies the seismogenic zone of the Middle America Trench, making it an ideal location for geophysical investigations of shallow subduction zone earthquake processes. As part of the collaborative Costa Rica Seismogenic Zone Experiment (CRSEIZE), a seismic network consisting of 20 land and 14 ocean-bottom seismometers recorded small magnitude local ea...
متن کاملLarge-scale relocation of two decades of Northern California seismicity using cross-correlation and double-difference methods
[1] We simultaneously reanalyzed two decades (1984–2003) of the digital seismic archive of Northern California using waveform cross-correlation (CC) and double-difference (DD) methods to improve the resolution in hypocenter locations in the existing earthquake catalog generated at the Northern California Seismic Network (NCSN) by up to three orders of magnitude. We used a combination of 3 billi...
متن کاملGenetic Variation of Cytochrome b Gene in Three Local Goat Breeds in Central Java of Indonesia
This study was conducted to elucidate the genetic diversity and phylogenic relationship of three local goat breeds in Central Java of Indonesia based on the cytochrome b (cyt b) gene sequence. Blood samples of 19, 15 and 12 heads of Kacang, Kejobong and Ettawa Grade breeds, respectively, were used as materials of the study. The multiple alignment of cyt b gene was conducted by comparing under s...
